Made in 2007 Sold to private collection
In 2011 Kitty Shepherd started collecting and making drawings of wild flowers. Sometimes these drawings end up on her pots as is this case. The pink Cranesbill grew wild around her studio in Arundel at this time. Further explorations into botanical works followed, they are few, but when they arrive they are worth the wait.
Coil built in red Staffordshire Earthenware clay and decorated with coloured slips. Slip trailing, painting and scraffito techniques were used in the decoration. It is the first piece to be made on this theme. Glazed with a transparent high gloss glaze to 1120°C oxidation firing.
