‘Decisions, Decisions’ a Lipstick Vortex.

The plate of lipsticks is a result of wanting to record lipsticks, both vintage and contemporary. Over the past 4 years I have dedicated a lot of time into researching lipsticks as I feel that they are not only glamorous, but also essential tools of female empowerment and the keys to old memories.

A SLIPWARE PLATE, 27 CM WIDE.
EXECUTED 2020.

The form of slab built red Staffordshire earthenware illustrated with contemporary and vintage lipsticks against white and black using slipware traditions of slip trailing and slip painting; finished with a transparent gloss glaze to 1120°C oxidation gas firing.
