Made in 2014 Sold to a private collection
Combining the undeniable nostalgia of the Mr Whippy or ’99’ with the melodrama of the black background on this piece really worked. The tight pack of the cornets makes it one of the most worked pots I’ve ever made. Covered in tiny jewelled dots of slip this piece stands out as one of my best slipware jars. It lives in London at a fabulous address!
Hand coiled Staffordshire Earthenware cutting in scraffito techniques with slip layering, trailing and fine jeweling. Glazed with a transparent high gloss glaze to 1120°C firing.
